THE BASICS

When and Where

Meadowlark Collective gathers together at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in North Greenville on Thursdays from September through early May. We run on a six week on/one week off schedule with a break for Thanksgiving, several weeks at Christmas, and a spring break. We have approximately 29 in-class days per academic year. A calendar is available before the start of each year. Your children are dropped off at 9:30 and picked up at 3:00.

Parental Requirement

By hiring teachers and offering core academic subjects, Meadowlark Collective is here to take a bit of the heavy load off of the teaching parent’s shoulders. We do not have a parent volunteer requirement and are glad to offer our Collective Day(s) as a day for parents to be able to turn their attention in other directions for a few hours.

Religious Affiliation

While we do not have a denominational affiliation, our leadership team are Christians who deeply love Jesus. We believe that a true education can only be found in the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty, and that all of those things come from God. This truth will inevitably be present in the way our teachers educate.

How Teachers are Selected

One of our goals at Meadowlark Collective is that our students learn from people who are passionate about what they teach and excited to share that passion with their students. Some of our teachers have formal education experience, but not all. We make sure that we feel confident that our teachers have an abundant grasp on the material they are teaching. Meadowlark Collective maintains a reading list for all teachers (a link to those resources can be found in our “Restful Learning”) to ensure that we remain faithful to our established educational philosophy, and also to provide guidance and a framework for each class. From there, we fully trust our teachers to bring themselves and their passion into each class time.

Registration

Before you consider applying to Meadowlark Collective, please look over our Handbook and contact us with any questions you may have. We want to help you ensure that we will be a good fit for your family!  We do our very best to cultivate a small and thoughtful community to best serve our students and families. It is our prayer that everyone who longs to be a part of Meadowlark Collective is able to, however, we know that this is not always possible.

At Meadowlark Collective, enrollment for the upcoming collective year begins in mid to late February and closes once classes are filled. Enrollment is offered first to current families, second to families on our interest list, and third, if space remains, as an open enrollment to our homeschooling community. Each year, Meadowlark Collective is blessed with many returning families and many interested families. Many times, several of our classes will fill before opening enrollment to the community.

Please note, during open enrollment, completion of the application form does not guarantee a class spot in the upcoming collective year. An email will be sent to confirm your student’s enrollment and explain how to pay the family registration fee. Payment of the family registration fee is due within 24 hours of the email and officially enrolls you in Meadowlark Collective for the upcoming year. Once enrollment for the upcoming collective year closes, families who have submitted an application will be notified that classes have closed. If they are still interested in attending Meadowlark Collective at a future date, they will then be added to our interest list. This list is kept and updated throughout the collective year.
